Terminate App

Force-stops the app, so the next Launch is a cold start. Its data and its login survive.

The piece

Force the app to stop, so the next Launch starts it cold. Its data and login stay untouched.

Reach for it when

  • Testing cold start — startup time, the splash screen, first-screen crashes.
  • Proving a session or a draft survives the process being killed.

In the bag

Every setting this block has. A field marked only when appears once you have chosen the mode above it — those are alternatives to each other, not extra things to fill in.

The app's id — e.g. com.example.app (Android) or com.example.MyApp (iOS). Install App reports the id it installed, so you can drop its Package field in here instead of typing it.

Build it
  1. Name the app

com.example.app on Android, com.example.MyApp on iOS. Install App reports the id it installed, so drop its Package field in here instead of typing one.

  2. Know what survives

This stops the process. It is not a clear-data and it is not an uninstall — the account stays logged in, the cache stays warm.

What comes out
  • Nothing new — a Launch after it starts cold.
Watch out
  • If you wanted a first-run experience, this is not it. Uninstall App then Install App is.
