Reads which app is in front right now and passes its id on.

Read which app is in the foreground right now — its id is passed on, so a later step can verify or terminate it.

Reach for it when

  • Checking a deep link opened the app you expected rather than a browser.
  • Terminating or verifying whatever happened to be in front, without knowing its name in advance.

  1. Drop it in — there is nothing to configure

    what it reads back

    reference it from any later step

  2. Use the id it found

    Pass it to Verify Running, Terminate App or an If / Branch that compares it with the app you expected.

What comes out
  • The package / bundle id of the app currently in the foreground.
Watch out
  • On the home screen it reports the launcher, which is a real app with a real id — compare against the app you wanted rather than assuming anything was found.
